Flooding expected. Take action now.
This message has been issued because flooding of homes and businesses is likely tonight, Saturday 21st October 2023. River levels are expected to continue to rise. Areas most at risk are Smiths Green, Helions Rd, Water Lane, the bottom of Church Street, North Street, Blois Road, the Endway and the Blois Meadows Business Centre in Steeple Bumpstead, and waterside properties in Broad Green. It is likely that we may need to issue more warning messages for a wider area, over the next few hours. The forecast is for drier conditions for the rest of the weekend, which will allow river levels to start to return to normal on Sunday. Take care on riverside footpaths, and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. We are monitoring the situation and not expecting the situation to escalate. We will update this message on Sunday 22nd October 2023, or as the situation changes.
