Flooding expected. Take action now.
This message has been issued because some minor flooding to low lying land, roads and riverside areas is likely today, Wednesday 23rd December. We are currently seeing higher than normal river levels in the area of Wissett. Areas most at risk are the Thoroughfare, Chediston Street, Saxons Way and School Lane in Halesworth, and the A144 and the railway line at Halesworth. It is likely that we may need to issue more warning messages for a wider area, over the next few hours. The forecast is for persistant rainfall throughout this evening and into tonight. Take care on riverside footpaths and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. We are monitoring the situation, and will update this message as necessary.
