Flooding expected. Take action now.
As a result of Storm Alex river levels are rising quickly in response to the heavy and persistent rain and the wet catchment . Flooding could occur this afternoon Sunday 04/10/20 from 14:00hrs GMT onwards. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Mill Lane, properties on The Street and access to School Lane and Chew Stoke primary school in Chew Stoke. Water will be deep and fast flowing at the fords on Mill Lane and Pilgrims Way. Flooding will also affect Dumpers Lane, Tunbridge Close and Tunbridge Road in Chew Magna.
Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours, lower totals are expected on Monday 05/10/20 . We expect river levels to peak today 04/10/20 and begin to fall again tonight. Our incident response staff are clearing weed screens. We will continue to closely monitor the situation
