High tides are expected to cause flooding tomorrow evening.
Flooding is expected from 8:00PM to 1:00AM on Friday 23rd into Saturday 24th.
Areas most at risk include A354 Chiswell, Brandy Row, Pebble Lane, Victoria Square up to the junction with Queens Road, the car parks along the A354 and the yard along Lerret Road. A 0.66m surge and large waves totalling 5.3m will increase water levels considerably higher than normal. We are expecting a high total water level (including waves) of 6.85mAODN. For information the high tide is at 9:21pm with South Easterly Force 8 winds. There is a high liklihood the causway road will be submerged and may need to be closed between 8pm Friday 23rd January and 1am Saturday 24th January.
We are liaising with emergency services and local authorities .
Avoid coastal roads, which may be flooded between 8pm and 1am the causeway road may need to be closed.
