Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

High tides overnight may lead to flooding. 
Flooding is possible from 22:30 tonight, Friday 11 September, to 02:30 on Saturday morning 12 September, peaking at 00:30 
Areas most at risk lie within the Sandside area of North Morecambe Bay. Locations most affected will be coastal roads and footpaths.
The following two tides, Saturday lunchtime and Saturday night, are also forecast to exceed the Flood Alert threshold. 
We are closely monitoring the situation  
Avoid beaches and coastal promenades, which may be flooded Do not drive through flood water or put yourself or others at risk. 
This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 12 September 2026 or as the situation changes.
