Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

High tides today may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible from 07:45 to 12:15 on Sunday 25th October 2026.
Locations most affected will be coastal roads and footpaths along the coast at North Morecambe Bay from Roosebeck to Carnforth including low lying areas around Ulverston, Greenodd, Haverthwaite, Flookburgh, Grange-over-Sands, Levens, Milnthorpe, Sandside, Arnside and Silverdale. The tide overnight tonight into Monday and Monday Morning are not expected to reach flood alert. However, the tide on Monday night 26th October, into Tuesday is expected to require a flood alert. We will continue to monitor the situation and will issue further alerts or warnings if necessary
We are closing locks and flood gates .
Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded.
This message will be updated by 5:00PM on Sunday 25 October or as the situation changes.
