Flood alert

High water levels are forecast to affect the foreshore from Fairlight to Dungeness overnight tonight, Monday 08/04/2024, due to high spring tides and strong winds. Tides will be at their highest between 23:30 and 00:30 overnight, with high tide at midnight. Flooding to roads and low lying land is expected at these times, however these conditions may apply two to four hours either side of high tide. We expect flooding to affect locations near the coast, particularly around Rye Harbour, Camber and Jury’s Gap. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are prepared to respond if required. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 09/04/24, or as the situation changes. For those that use it, the astronomical water level will be 4.30m AOD and the total water level will be 4.81m AOD, with south westerly wind speeds of Force 6.
