Flooding possible. Be prepared.
This Flood Alert remains in force this morning, Sunday 05/10/2025. A high tide this morning (Sunday) may lead to minor flooding along parts of the East Kent coast.
No property flooding is expected.
Highest tide level is expected to be on the East Kent coast around 10:15 AM on 05/10/2025, and around an hour later at 11:15 AM at Sandwich on the tidal River Stour. Flooding is possible 1 hour either side of high water at any given location.
Areas most at risk are coastal roads and footpaths.
Coastal conditions are expected to improve by the afternoon and no further flooding is expected.
We are closely monitoring the situation and closing flood gates in coastal defences.
Be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous.
The detailed tidal forecast for those who use it: For a peak level at Dover. The forecast high water is at 10:15 AM on 05/10/2025 with a level of 3.63mAODN with westerly force 6 winds.
