Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High tides, strong winds and large waves due to Storm Ashley may lead to flooding overnight.
Highest tide level is expected along the coast from Silloth to St Bees Head at 2:15 AM on 21/10/2024. Flooding is possible several hours either side of this time.
Areas most at risk include Low lying areas along the coast from Silloth to St Bees Head including Allonby, Maryport, Flimby, Workington, Parton and Whitehaven.
We have closed flood gates at Flimby and Maryport.
Stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. Please don't put yourself or others at risk.
