Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High tides are expected from Monday 31st March through to Wednesday 2nd April which may cause flooding to low lying areas along the coast. Todays lunchtime tide is the Peak of this tide cycle.
This Flood Alert is for the lunchtime tide between 12:30 BST on 31/03/2025 and 14:30 BST on 31/03/2025, with the highest level expected around 13:30 BST 31/03/2025.
Areas most at risk include Low lying areas along the coast from Silloth to St Bees Head including Allonby, Maryport, Flimby, Workington, Parton and Whitehaven.
We are monitoring the situation and we are closing flood gates, where needed. Be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads.
This message will be updated by 5PM on 31/03/2025, or as the situation changes.
