The Western Rother is high, but now falling, following Thursday's rain. Flood water will remain in fields and affect rural roads, including near the Cowdray ruins in Midhurst. Flood impacts affecting isolated properties including Durford Mill, near Iping Bridge, Stedham Bridge and North Mill Midhurst should slowly ease through Friday. A Flood Alert remains in force to describe minor flood impacts on the whole Western Rother. Very little rainfall is forecast for the next five days. The river should continue to fall, and return to a more normal level by Saturday 06/01/2024. Some roads may become impassable. Please plan to avoid driving through routes vulnerable to flooding. Our gates in Midhurst and Stedham are operating to help reduce the risk of flooding. We will re issue this Flood Warning if the risk of property flooding increases.
