Flood warning

This message has been issued because flooding of homes and businesses is likely between 22:30 and 02:30 overnight tonight, Monday 8th April into tomorrow Tuesday 9th April. Tides are expected to be higher than usual, due to the forecast weather conditions during spring tides. Areas most at risk are Bawdsey Quay and in front of the flood defences at Felixstowe Ferry hamlet. The detailed forecast for those that use it is for a peak level at Harwich of 2.85mAODN at half past midnight tonight, Monday 8th April into Tuesday 9th April, which is 0.76m above tide tables, wind Force 5, in a south-westerly direction (mAODN is height above average sea level, for more info refer to local tide tables). Be ready to take action to protect your property if flooding is expected. We are monitoring the situation. We will update this message by 10:00 tomorrow, Tuesday 9th April.
