Groundwater levels measured from our observation borehole at Ashley Green, Chesham, have been falling steadily since the peak level reached in March. The levels are now 1 meter below the threshold where areas around Chesham, such as the Vale Road area are considered at risk of flooding from groundwater. As a result there is no longer a threat of flooding to fields or roads, although standing water may remain at low lying areas.
Groundwater levels are expected to remain high in this time of the year. We will continue to monitor the Ashley Green borehole and provide update if the situation changes, but are not planning any additional on-the-ground monitoring at this time.
