Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High groundwater levels may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible as a lot of rain (50mm) has fallen in the last week.
Flooding is affecting cellars in a small number of properties along Winchester Road, central King's Somborne and in Little Somborne. Water in the ford off Winchester Road is now very high. From today (Wednesday 11/02/2026) to Sunday (15/02/2026), further rain (between 20 and 50mm) is forecast to affect Hampshire. Groundwater levels are expected to continue rising over the next week. If the heavier rain in the forecast affects the area, then from next week, impacts to the sewerage system may occur and water in the stream could come out of bank at Old Vicarage Lane.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed .
This message will be updated by 6:00PM on 18 February 2026 or as the situation changes.
