Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

High groundwater levels may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible as a lot of rain (45mm) has fallen in the last week.
Currently, groundwater levels in Kings Somborne are stable around 10cm below where we would expect flooding to begin affecting cellars in a small number of properties along Winchester Road, central King's Somborne and in Little Somborne. Today (05/02/2026), up to 30mm of rain is forecast to affect Hampshire. From Friday (06/02/2026) to Monday (09/02/2026), lighter rain is forecast with another 30mm possible across these 4 days. If heavy rain affects Kings Somborne and Little Somborne, the level will begin rising again and flooding impacts could begin within the next week.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed .
This message will be updated by 6:00PM on 12 February 2026 or as the situation changes.
