Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High groundwater levels may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible . 24mm of rain has been recorded in the last week.
Groundwater levels in Kings Somborne and Little Somborne are relatively stable. Flooding is affecting cellars in a small number of properties along Winchester Road, central King's Somborne and in Little Somborne. Water in the ford off Winchester Road is very high. Today (18/02/2026), up to 20mm of rain is forecast in Hampshire. From Thursday (19/02/2026) to Sunday (22/02/2026), small amounts of rain are forecast. If heavy rain affects the area, then groundwater levels will rise again, and flooding impacts will increase. If only small amounts of rain occur, levels will begin to slowly fall.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed .
