Flood alert

High river levels today may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 27 February 2026 .
This information is correct as of 2.30pm on Friday 27th February 2026. The causeway at Welney has up to 4 cm of water on the road. Floodwater is receding from the causeway at Sutton Gault. There is no longer any floodwater on the causeway at Earith. Due to the uneven surface of the roads, water may be deeper in places. The Environment Agency are liaising with Norfolk Highways who will decide whether to close the Welney road.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels . We are not expecting to issue any further warning messages at this time.
Never drive through flood water, just 30cm of fast flowing water is enough to move your car .
