Flooding possible. Be prepared.
This Flood Alert has been issued due to the high tide this afternoon, 23/08/2024.
We do not anticipate the flood alert level to be met during this afternoon’s high tide, but flooding is still possible at low lying land and roads at the head of the Wirral from Hoylake to New Brighton, including parts of Leasowe and Wallasey from 2:30 PM.
The current forecast anticipates the flood alert level will not be met during the high tide in the early hours of tomorrow morning, 24/08/2024.
Our incident rooms are on standby and we are closely monitoring the situation.
Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous.
This message will be updated this afternoon, 23/08/2024, by 5:00 PM, or as the situation changes.
