Flooding expected. Take action now.
Heavy rain during Saturday has fallen over the Louth Canal catchment and caused the river to rise. The highest levels were observed on Saturday evening and the river is now gradually receding. However, due to tide lock conditions, the levels are expected to remain above normal today and this evening, Monday, 28th October. Low lying properties near the Louth Canal are most at risk. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated Monday evening or as the situation changes.
