Flooding expected. Take action now.
High tides, strong winds and large waves are expected to cause flooding overnight.
Highest tide level is expected to be at Lancaster Road from Oxcliffe Hill Farm to Heaton Bottom Road, Heaton and Bazil Point. Sunderland Brows Farm, Sunderland Point, First and Second Terrace, Alderley Bank, Potts Corner and Shorefields House and Caravan Park at 2:15 AM on 23/08/2024. Flooding is possible 3 hours either side of this time.
Areas most at risk include Lancaster Road from Oxcliffe Hill Farm to Heaton Bottom Road, Heaton and Bazil Point. Sunderland Brows Farm, Sunderland Point, First and Second Terrace, Alderley Bank, Potts Corner and Shorefields House and Caravan Park.
We do not expect to see similar impacts from the high tide tomorrow afternoon.
We are closely monitoring the situation.
Consider activating any property flood protection products in these areas.
Stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads in these areas as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous.
