Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are continuing to rise on the River Medway and the River Beult because of prolonged rainfall. Flooding of some properties in Yalding is currently expected this evening Monday 6 January 2025 into the morning of Tuesday 7 January. Property owners with property flood resilience measures should deploy them now. Flooding is expected at Little Venice, The Tatt, Acott Fields and along Benover Road and Gravelly Ways are also possible.
We currently expect river levels to continue to rise until midnight and will remain high into Tuesday morning.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff have been in Yalding and the surrounding area and we are coordinating our response with local authorities and emergency services.
This message will be updated by 8am on Tuesday 7 January 2025 or sooner if the situation changes significantly.
