Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

River levels remain high this morning due to rainfall and high tide. Flooding is possible on Thursday 5 February 2026 throughout the day. Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near rivers, particularly around East Farleigh but particularly at Lockmeadow and the underpasses at Maidstone Town Centre. We are closely monitoring the situation. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 18:00 on 5 February 2026, or as the situation changes.
