Water levels in the Lower Test are higher than normal, but continue to slowly fall over the next 48 hours. Over the next few weeks, water levels will remain high on the River Test through Romsey and Testwood and some water will remain ponded in fields. The river is sensitive to further heavy or persistent rainfall during this time. Over the weekend, relatively small amounts of rain are forecast. From midnight 00:00 Monday (1/4/2024) further rain is expected with up to 25mm possible over the course of the day. Additional rain is expected on Tuesday (2/4/2024) as unsettled weather returns. We continue to monitor river levels, and will issue further advice when necessary given how sensitive the river will be to further rainfall over the next few weeks.
