Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

High tides this afternoon may lead to flooding. 
Flooding is possible from 1.30pm on Friday 20 February 2026. 
Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads at Fiddlers Ferry peaking at 2:15 PM, Eastford Road, peaking at 2:30 PM, and Arpley Bridge, peaking at 2:45 PM. It is possible that river levels may affect Arpley Road under the railway bridge. We do not anticipate the next high tide in the early hours of tomorrow morning, 21 February 2026, to meet the flood alert threshold. We are expecting higher than normal high tides over the next day, and a result, we may issue further flood alerts and flood warnings. 
We are closely monitoring the situation . 
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses . 
This message will be updated by 5:00PM on 20 February 2026 or as the situation changes.
