Middle Stour and tributaries

Flood Alert

River levels at the Hammoon and Blandford level gauges have risen overnight following earlier rainfall. The forecast is for a very wet weekend ahead and so levels are expected to remain high until the middle of next week. We will be monitoring the situation closely and will continue to update the Flood Warning Service at regular intervals during this period. Particular care should be taken on smaller roads close to rivers especially between Manston and Hammoon and around Fifehead Neville. Flood water can rise very quickly causing cars to float posing considerable risk to life. Environment Agency staff will be patrolling watercourses and clearing blockages where they occur.
