Flood alert

This is a Flood Alert update. River levels remain high and flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Middle Dorset Stour tributaries between Sturminster Newton and Wimborne. Flooding could still affect locations near the River Stour, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around tributaries.
Today is forecast to be dry but further rain is forecast later this week. We will continue to monitor the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses, and do not attempt to walk, cycle or drive through flood water. People in this area should continue to monitor local water levels and weather conditions. This message will be updated by 11:00 AM on 18 February 2026 or as the situation changes.
