Flooding possible. Be prepared.
Monday's early morning tide at 03:15 on 06/01/2025 and 04:45 on 06/01/25 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong Southerly Force 6 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.78 m. The total forecast tide is 3.88 metres Chart Datum (1.90 mAOD) at Lymington. For 1 hour either side of high tide, small amounts of water will flood the footpath near the Ship Inn Pub, Town Quay. Saltgrass Lane will flood, and will be completely impassable to traffic. In Milford on Sea High Street, near the Smugglers Inn Pub, the river will increase with the tide and may come close to the top of the river bank, possibly flooding footpaths. Monday afternoon's tide at 15:30 06/01/25 is forecast to be 58 cm lower (1.32 mAOD). No further flood impacts are expected. To protect property from flooding, at Keyhaven and Lymington, we will close our tidal defence gates 2 hours either side of high water. We continue to monitor the forecast. We recommend that all private defence gates are closed. Any cars parked at Saltgrass Lane will flood. We will remove this message by 12:00 on 06/01/25.
