Flooding expected. Take action now.
This flood warning remains in force due to strong northerly winds associated with Storm Arwen causing large waves and spray overtopping along the North Yorkshire Coast. Overtopping is beginning to reduce but hazardous conditions are expected to continue overnight into early morning on Sunday 28th November 2021. Areas likely to be affected are paths and promenades along Spa complex in Scarborough. Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads, as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous with debris. You can check flood warnings and alerts on the GOV.UK website, or via Floodline number 0345 988 1188. We are monitoring the situation closely. This message will be updated by 08:00 on Sunday 28th November 2021, or as the situation changes.
