Flooding expected. Take action now.
This Flood Warning has been issued due to the high tide, strong winds and wave overtopping forecast between 4:30 PM and 6:30 PM on 09/04/2024.
Flooding is expected at properties including Whitley Sands Refreshment Kiosk, Robinson Crusoe's Cafe at Tynemouth Longsands, Tynemouth Sailing Club and the area at Cullercoats Bay around the Lifeboat Station and the Dove Marine Laboratory.
We are expecting higher than normal tides over the next few days and as a result we may issue further alerts or warnings.
Our incident rooms are open and we are closely monitoring the situation.
Please stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as the expected large waves and sea spray will be dangerous. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one.
