Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising at the Carlton river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible to begin between 00:30 and 03:00 today, 28/12/2023. Areas most at risk are Gedling and Carlton, including Waverley Way, Tennesson Avenue and Brooklands Drive.
Further rainfall is forecast over the next 6 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until 09:00 on 28/12/2023.
We are closely monitoring the situation.
Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and avoid contact with flood water.
This message will be updated by 09:00 this morning, 28/12/203, or as the situation changes.
