Flooding expected. Take action now.
This message has been issued because of the ongoing impact and continued risk of flooding to homes and businesses, which will continue throughout today, Monday 13th November. Water levels remain high and may last for the next few days. This is due to a natural tide locking effect of the Broads river system combined with the rainfall that fell last night and this morning associated with Storm Debi, which has now cleared into the North Sea. Areas most at risk are Ridlington, Briggate, Honing, East Rushton, Dilham, Sutton, Catfield Common, Hickling, Potter Heigham, Ludham, Bastwick, Martham, Damgate and Billockby, and the A149 and A1062 roads. The weather forecast is for a dry afternoon, but with further showers through this evening, Monday 13th November, on a brisk westerly wind. Further showers are expected to continue through Tuesday and Wednesday. Flood water is dangerous. Don't put yourself or others at risk. We are closely monitoring the situation. We will update this message on Tuesday 14th November, or as the situation changes.
