River levels are rising at the Bow Bridge river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Areas of the town adjacent the Cricket Ground, Football Club, Bow Bridge and Goose Green including Ulverston Road, Queen Street, Littlefields, Beckside Road, Station Road, Market Street, Glenfield, Garden Lea and Goose Green are likely to be affected. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 2-3 hours. We expect river levels to remain high for this period. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences.
