Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising on the River Doe Lea at Staveley and Pools Brook at Duckmanton due to heavy rainfall.
Flooding is forecast to affect properties at Riverdale park, Bent Lane, Staveley, Chesterfield, and St. Johns House, Bent Lane, Staveley, Chesterfield. The first property to flood From Pools Brook Duckmanton is Meadow Cottage, Staveley Road, Duckmanton, Chesterfield.
Overtopping on the Doe Lea upstream of Buttermilk Lane Bridge will cause impacts on Buttermilk Lane. Overtopping on Pools Brook will cause impacts on Erin court housing estate just off Grove Road.
Rainfall is expected throughout today, and river levels are expected to remain high. Our incident rooms are open and we are closely monitoring the situation. Monitor local water levels and weather conditions, and consider putting your flood plan into action. You should avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 23:00, 20/10/2023, or as the situation changes.
