Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

High tides and forecast weather conditions throughout the morning may lead to flooding.
The highest tide level is expected to be at 12:25 PM on 18/10/2024 and will not reach flood alert level. The tide at 12:42 AM on 19/10/2024 is expected to reach flood warning level. Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of this time.
Areas most at risk include Freckleton Marsh, Riversway Docklands, Lower Penwortham, Hutton Marsh, Longton Marsh, Becconsall Marsh, Much Hoole Marsh, Bretherton Eyes, Croston Finney, Hesketh Out Marsh and Hundred End.
Further flooding is possible on 19/10/2024 due to higher than normal tides and weather conditions.
We are closely monitoring the situation and checking flood defences.
Be careful along footpaths and roads and do not drive through flood water.
