Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High river levels on Monday may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 26 January 2026 as a lot of rain is forecast (30mm).
Flooding is affecting Privett Road. It will also affect footpaths at Alver Country Park, especially near to Apple Dumpling Bridge. River levels and flood risk should reduce following the clearance of the outfall this morning. However, storm Chandra will bring up to 35mm of rain later today and overnight. Combined with strong winds and high waves, flows through the outfall could become impeded by shingle, increasing flood risk again.
We are closely monitoring the situation . Our operations staff will clear the outfall again if necessary.
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses .
