Flooding expected. Take action now.
Heavy rain is currently falling in the Bain catchment and will continue throughout Monday 6th January 2025. This is causing the River Bain to rise and is forecast to continue to rise through the day. Low lying areas near to the river are already flooded and we now expect properties in Kirkby on Bain and Haltham to be affected this afternoon onwards. Low lying properties near the river on Main Street and Wharf Lane in Kirkby on Bain and West lane in Haltham are expected to be affected first. No further rainfall is forecast, however, river levels will remain high for a couple of days. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated online and on FloodLine by 12: on 07/05/25, or before if the situation changes.
