Flooding expected. Take action now.
Further rainfall is forecast throughout the afternoon. This will continue to affect an already very wet catchment in the River Bain and Haltham Beck in Haltham and Kirby on Bain. The rising river levels have already caused flooding to a number of properties in Kirkby on Bain and low lying land and roads and due to the continued rising of the rivers we expect further properties could be affected. Low lying properties near the River Bain and Haltham Beck are most at risk. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated as the situation changes.
