Flood warning

This message has been issued because some flooding of homes and businesses is possible in response to the rain that has fallen overnight and this morning, Sunday 18 February 2024. River levels are high in response to the rainfall. Areas most at risk are Broad St, The Causeway, Ellis St, Ash St and Fen St in Boxford, Mill Lane, Polstead Bridge in Mill Street, and properties around Thorrington Street Bridge. We are not currently expecting the situation to escalate. The forecast is for a generally improving weather picture through this afternoon, but with the chance of the odd shower pushing through the catchment. Flood water is dangerous. Don't put yourself or others at risk. We are monitoring the situation closely. We will update this message on Monday 19 February 2024, or if the situation changes.
