Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels have risen rapidly as a result of persistent heavy rainfall overnight Tuesday 31 December 2024 and throughout the early morning on Wednesday 01 January 2025.
Consequently, flooding of property is likely between 09:00 and 12:00 today, Wednesday 01 January 2025. Areas most at risk include Ravensthorpe including Low Mill Lane Industrial Estate and Mill Buildings along Low Mill Lane, Haverlock Street, Calder Road and Huddersfield Road.
We expect river levels to peak around midday and are forecast to fall throughout this afternoon and into tomorrow, Thursday 02 January 2025. Rainfall is expected to continue until midday today after which it is expected to clear.
Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 16:15 on Wednesday 1st January 2025, or as the situation changes.
