River levels on the River Calder at Methley are high and continue to rise slowly as a result of the heavy and persistent rainfall associated with Storm Christophe. They are forecast to remain high before starting to fall Thursday afternoon (21/01/21).
Areas most at risk are properties Altofts Ings, the northern end of Foxholes Lane. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low-lying footpaths and roads near watercourses, and plan driving routes to avoid low-lying land that may be flooded. Please see GOV.UK for a 5 day flood forecast. For weather forecasts please see the Met Office. This message will be updated by 05:00 tomorrow, 21/01/2021, or as the situation changes.
