Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising rapidly on the River Char due to heavy rainfall. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Char, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around The Street in Charmouth including Catherston Cottages, Robyns Nest, Neighbridge Cottage and Kingfishers. River levels are rising rapidly at the Charmouth gauge.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking rivers for blockages in the area.
Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Consider putting your flood plan into action. Remain safe and be aware of your surroundings.
