Flooding expected. Take action now.
Further flooding is expected during this evening Monday 1 February and into the early hours of Tuesday morning. River levels are now dropping but are expected to rise again in response to forecast rainfall from 6pm until midnight.
Further heavy frontal rainfall is expected from the west this evening which will push river levels back above Flood Warning criteria. Levels are predicted to be higher than those observed during the last 24 hours. Peak river level is expected at 3am.
A recently completed flood defence scheme will provide increased flood protection to properties in Helston, however the risk of flooding remains.
Flooding is expected to properties, low lying land and roads close to the river. Take care near the areas of concern and monitor local conditions. We are monitoring river levels and have staff in the area checking for and clearing blockages.
This message will be updated this evening or earlier if the situation changes.
