Flood warning

Whilst river levels have peaked and rainfall has eased, river levels on the River Cocker remain high due to recent persistent rainfall. River levels have been falling overnight but are forecast to rise again towards a second, lower, peak around 3:00 PM this afternoon 29/10/2021. High river levels will continue to affect locations near the River Cocker, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around farms and property adjacent the River Cocker in the Lorton Valley, Southwaite Bridge and Southwaite Mill. Avoid using low lying roads and footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses, do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. We will continue to monitor the forecast and update this message by 4:00 PM this today 29/10/2021.
