Flood alert

Rising river levels this afternoon may lead to flooding. 
Flooding is possible from the afternoon of 29 August 2026 . 
Flooding of low lying land and roads is possible in the Covingham Drive area. Today's rainfall is expected to clear this evening, but further thundery showers are forecast over the next 24 hours which have the potential to be heavy at times. River levels are expected to fall again this evening, but may rise again in response to heavy rainfall. 
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels . 
Avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded . 
This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 30 August 2026 or as the situation changes.
