Severe flood warning

This Severe Flood Warning has been issued because of flooding in Derby City Centre as a result of Storm BABET.
Flooding continues.
Areas most at risk are the Derby, Water Treatment Works.
Further light rainfall is forecast over the next 36 hours, however river levels continue to rise due to rainfall traveling from the upper Derwent. We expect river levels to remain high until 23/10/23.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area and liaising with emergency services and Derby City Council.
Stay away from flood water and do not take unnecessary risks. Please follow the advice of the emergency services and first responders on the ground and on Derby City Council’s website.
Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property. Advice and information is also available through Floodline on 0345 9881188. This SEVERE FLOOD WARNING UPDATE is now in force until further notice.
