Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels have risen at the Matlock river gauge as a result of Storm Babet. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected between 22:00 and 23:00 today, 20/10/2023. Areas most at risk are Duffield Church, and Village Hall.
Further heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until 01:00 on 22/10/2023.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services and patrolling watercourses in the area.
Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and have a bag ready with vital items like medicines and insurance documents.
This message will be updated by 04:00 tomorrow morning, 21/10/2023, or as the situation changes.
