Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising at the Derby St Marys river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall (Storm Babet). Consequently, flooding of property is expected to begin between 07:00 and 08:00 today 21/10/23. Areas most at risk are Milford, including the Old Foundry area, and the A6, between Duffield, and Milford.
Further light rainfall is forecast over the next 12 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until 00:00 on 22/10/23.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area and liaising with emergency services.
Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and avoid contact with flood water.
This message will be updated by 12:00 today, 21/10/23, or as the situation changes.
