Flooding expected. Take action now.
The River Don peaked at 12 noon today at Kirk Bramwith and has been steadily falling since following yesterday’s persistent heavy rainfall. Despite unsettled weather expected overnight tonight, Wednesday 3rd January 2024, we expect no significant further river response and levels are expected to steadily fall through the rest of the week. We will be closely monitoring the forecasts and river levels.
Please put your flood plan into action and take care when near washlands and low-lying land, which could be flooded. Avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses, and do not drive through floodwater.
This message will be updated by 05:00AM on 04/01/2024, or as the situation changes.
