Flood alert

Levels have been slowly falling on the River Don at Doncaster through today, and are now also falling in Kirk Bramwith and Fishlake area. Levels may rise again overnight and into Sunday morning in response to further rainfall on Saturday evening and due to the impact of the high tide in the early hours of Sunday morning. Levels are not expected to be as high as seen earlier on Saturday. We do not currently expect to issue any flood warnings through this period and levels should then fall again later on Sunday.
Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near the River Don from Hexthorpe to Stainforth, including Swaith Dike and North Swaith Dike in Bentley.
Norwood Spillway on Ea Beck is in operation and Jubilee Bridge remains closed.
We are closely monitoring the situation.
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
