River levels remain high on the River Eden due to heavy rainfall. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Eden, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around residential and commercial properties on The Sands at Appleby, the Bowling and Cricket Clubs, sports and leisure facilities in the King Georges Field area and Holme Farm.
River levels are peaking from 01:25 on 22/01/2024 and no further heavy rainfall is forecast tonight. Our incident response staff have closed flood gates and checked defences. We have deployed pumps, people and equipment in the area. Remain safe and be aware of your surroundings. This message will be updated by 09:30 on 22/01/2024, or as the situation changes.
